Small World Coffee continues its commitment to the local arts scene with monthly art exhibitions, live music performances and pop-up events at its two Princeton café locations. From June 2 through July 7, the coffeehouse will host monthly rotating art exhibitions featuring local and regional artists at both cafés.

At the café at 14 Witherspoon Street., featured artist Marissa Woodrow will showcase paintings and mixed-media works created during the past two years. Born and raised in a rural community in California’s Bay Area and now based in Central Jersey, Woodrow studied painting and printmaking in college before developing a practice centered on painting and mixed media.

According to the artist statement, the collection explores movement, emotion, love and energy through vivid color combinations and fantastical figures. The abstracted, spirit-like forms blend into their surroundings, suggesting a connection with nature and other living beings.

At the café at 254 Nassau St., featured artist Ashley Taylor Dart will present documentary and fine-art photography. Trained in both digital and analog image-making, Dart’s work focuses on oceans and the environment, conservation and climate solutions, and adventure sports.

Small World Coffee’s Witherspoon Street café will also continue its tradition of hosting intimate live music performances featuring local musicians and touring artists. Performances are scheduled Saturdays from 7 to 8:30 p.m. and are free and open to the public.

Upcoming performances include the Matt Davis Trio performing jazz June 6; Mason Madden performing blues June 13; Caruso performing instrumental guitar-loop music June 20; and Dan Kassel performing cello June 27.

The Nassau Street café will also host community pop-up events featuring local makers, bakers, artists and small businesses. Upcoming events include a June 26 appearance by That Girl With Flowers from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m., featuring custom flower bouquets.

Small World Coffee is located at 14 Witherspoon Street. and 254 Nassau Street. in Princeton. Online: smallworldcoffee.com.
