Special History Walk after Reading of Declaration of Independence, 23 South Warren Street, Trenton, During Trenton-s Heritage Weekend, July 8 is a special day in downtown Trenton. At the site of the old Hunterdon County Courthouse, the Declaration of Independence was read 250 years ago - on July 8, 1776. Another reading will take place at noon, July 8, 2026, and it will be followed at 3 p.m. by a two-mile walking tour of Historic Downtown Trenton. Walkers are invited to join the sponsors from the Kiwanis Club of Trenton and the City of Trenton Recreation Department as well as Trenton Walks for the 3 p.m. 3 p.m. 4:30 p.m.
