Call for Singers

Voices Chorale NJ invites all singers to an open summer sing featuring selections from its 2024-25 repertoire including excerpts from the Requiems by Mozart and Brazilian composer José Maurício Nunes Garcia, who was the first to conduct the Mozart in Brazil and who also modeled his own Requiem on Mozart’s.

The event takes place Monday, August 19, at 7:30 p.m. at Music Together Worldwide Headquarters, 225 Pennington-Hopewell Road, Hopewell. Scores will be provided, and light refreshments and ice cream will be served.

It’s an opportunity to sing both well-loved and new music, meet director David A. McConnell, and learn some fascinating history and context about the compositions.

Those interested in joining Voices Chorale NJ may audition that evening by contacting Linda Silber: LindaFSilber@gmail.com. All voice parts are welcome to audition, but tenors and bass/baritones are especially encouraged.

Voices Chorale NJ (VCNJ) is an auditioned chorus of about 40 members from New Jersey and Pennsylvania. It welcomes skilled singers from diverse backgrounds and experiences and is dedicated to offering a rewarding musical journey for members, engaging experiences for our audiences, and educational opportunities for the local community. Performances showcase collaborations with internationally acclaimed composers, local children’s choirs, chamber orchestras, and accomplished soloists. Call for Volunteers

The teens at Princeton Learning Cooperative are always looking for interesting, dedicated people willing to share their knowledge and skills. Generally a one-hour-a-week commitment, PLC volunteers tutor one-on-one, lead small-group classes, or offer a one-time workshop on various topics. Volunteers can teach remotely if the subject does not require hands-on work. Can you help with any of these topics?
