Jan Goodman presents a free workshop on “Mastering the Interview” with the PSG of Mercer County and Princeton Public Library on Friday, November 17, from 9:45 a.m. to noon at the Princeton Public Library, 65 Witherspoon Street, Princeton.

Goodman is a community outreach specialist and career coach for the Greater Raritan One-Stop Career Training Center in Somerville, where she has offered consulting and advisory services for 13 years. According to her bio, as an expert on workforce development for the employment center, she helps those looking to rebrand and “reinvent themselves,” as well as fulfill staffing needs for organizations.

During the program, participants will learn how to answer effectively, present themselves appropriately, communicate their skills, and what to expect throughout the interview process.

As Goodman notes in the event details, “the interview is one of the key elements of the job search process. As with any skill, we can get better at it with preparation and practice. In this workshop, participants will explore how to prepare for an interview and become familiar with the types of questions to expect, as well as the questions they should think about asking. They will learn how to prepare for second interviews, testing, and shadowing, as well as how to follow up on their interview sessions.”

Goodman, a certified job counselor with the U.S. Department of Labor, has a bachelor’s in business administration from New Jersey City University and a mini-executive MBA from Rutgers Business School. She started her career in the training sector, where she worked in corporate marketing and business development before becoming a program lead at Rutgers University for a “statewide public health network.”
