Princeton University’s “Black Poetry: A Gala Reading” kicks off a “Black Poetry: A Conference” on Thursday, February 14, at 7 p.m., at McCarter Theater.
Organized by U.S. Poet Laureate and director of Princeton’s program in creative writing Tracy K. Smith, Princeton arts fellow Jaamil Olawale Kosoko, and Princeton associate professor of English Joshua Kotin, the conference continues with sessions involving more than 40 writers on Friday and Saturday, February 15 and 16, from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m., in the Lewis Arts Complex.
While all events are free, the conference requires registration and there is a waiting list.
