The Mercer County Office of Economic Development, in partnership with the New Jersey Small Business Development Center (NJSBDC) at The College of New Jersey, has announced the launch of the Procurement Academy Training Hub (PATH) Program. The new initiative is designed to help established businesses strengthen their readiness to compete in the government contracting marketplace.

PATH is an eight-session program designed to equip established New Jersey businesses with the knowledge, skills, and strategies needed to successfully compete for and win government contracts at the federal, state, and local levels. The free program launches Tuesday, October 21, from 6 to 7:30 p.m. at the NJSBDC on the TCNJ campus in Ewing. Sessions continue weekly through November 18. Interested businesses can apply at www.sbdcnj.com/events/procurement-academy-training-hub-path-1.

The sessions mix in-person and web-based learning. Participants who complete all eight sessions will come away with actionable strategies to grow their business as well as a certificate of completion/

Topics covered include:

• Small business certifications and capability statements

• Market intelligence and opportunity identification

• Navigating SAM.gov and procurement platforms

• Proposal development and grant writing

• Understanding what procurement officers look for

• Marketing and branding for government contracting

• Bonding, insurance, and financing options

To participate in PATH, businesses must be established and operating in New Jersey for at least one-two years. Attendance at all eight sessions is mandatory. A full schedule will be shared with participants following registration.
