The Princeton Mercer Regional Chamber of Commerce tackles the economic effect of environmental issues with “Water, Water Everywhere: How Climate Change is Altering Development in NJ,” an event on Thursday, May 11, from 8 to 10 a.m. at the Trenton Country Club, 201 Sullivan Way, West Trenton.
Networking and breakfast will precede the day’s discussion with a panel of experts, tapping into a reservoir of resources including the following: Jim Purcell, the assistant municipal engineer for the municipality of Princeton and a visiting lecturer-turned-adjunct professor at The College of New Jersey; Christopher C. Obropta, Ph.D., P.E., the director of the New Jersey Water Resources Research Institute and extension specialist in water resources with Rutgers Cooperative Extension; and Christian M. Roche, a principal at Langan Engineering, an engineering and environmental consulting services company with the Princeton office.
These individuals will address the nuances of stormwater regulations, what steps there are for preparation and prevention, the practice of green infrastructure, words of wisdom, and more through the lens of supporting constructive growth.
The conversation will be moderated by Gina Sullivan, who oversees business development and the Market Recovery grant program for ELEC825, an Engineers Labor-Employer Cooperative that “promotes economic development, infrastructure investment, and construction industry education to provide opportunities for developers, union contractors, and members of Local 825” in New Jersey and New York, according to the “About” page on the group’s website.
