On the Move: New Board Members at Eden Autism

Eden Autism has announced four additions to its Board of Trustees. These individuals were nominated and elected based on their outstanding dedication to advancing Eden’s mission to improve the lives of individuals with autism.

Anthony Cancro, Rajiv Devulapalli, Nancy Fishman, and Kishore Yalamanchili join 17 other board members to provide Eden with leadership and strategic counsel. The new members replace Mark Berkowsky, Maribeth Edmunds, Norman Greenberg, and Charlie Banta, whose terms on the Eden board have ended.

“It is an honor to welcome Anthony, Rajiv, Nancy, and Kishore to our Board of Trustees,” said Eden Autism President & CEO Michael Decker. “Their passion, knowledge, and commitment to our mission will provide invaluable guidance to the entire Eden community.”

Anthony Cancro is the township administrator for the Township of Plainsboro, where he is responsible for the day-to-day operations and overall management of the township’s workforce and operating and capital budgets. Cancro has held similar roles in Springfield and Edison and has held senior executive roles with the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, the New Jersey Department of Community Affairs, and the New Jersey Department of Energy.

Cancro resides in Pennington. He earned a master’s in public administration and management at Rutgers University, a master’s in environmental science at City University of New York, and a bachelor’s in environmental science/planning at Ramapo College. He has also served on the boards of Sustainable Jersey and HomeFront.

Rajiv Devulapalli is the senior manager, enterprise architecture — data and analytics at Johnson & Johnson. The Plainsboro resident has an MBA from the University of Miami, a certificate in neuroscience from Harvard University, a certificate in genomics from the University of Maryland, and is currently pursuing a master’s in biotechnology through Harvard University.

Devulapalli participates in the Eden Autism 5K and has volunteered to represent the organization at Johnson & Johnson to engage his colleagues in Eden events and fundraising efforts. His son has attended the Eden School since 2013.

Nancy Fishman is a retired senior program officer in research, evaluation, and learning at the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation. There she designed, developed, funded, and managed research and evaluations grants in the areas of hospital and community integration for population health, strengthening community capacity, health profession workforce with a special emphasis on nursing and primary care, and innovative programs for community-based long-term care.

Fishman, a Pennington resident, earned a master’s of public health with a concentration in epidemiology at the University of Massachusetts Amherst and a bachelor of science in nursing at the University of Connecticut.

Kishore Yalamanchili is the managing director/consultant at New Oak Capital. Prior to this, he was investment senior vice president, portfolio strategy group at Prudential Financial. His experience in the investment industry includes Karya Capital Management, BlackRock Financial Management, and State Street Research & Management.

He earned a PhD in structural engineering at Clemson University, an MBA at the University of Chicago, an M.Tech at the Indian Institute of Technology, and a BE at Andhra University. Yalamanchili is an active volunteer with the Boy Scouts of America. He also participates in the Eden 5K and participated in other Eden fundraising events. His child currently attends the Eden School.

Deaths

Ruth E. Aaronson, 89, on July 29. She worked at The College of New Jersey for 27 years and also taught Sunday school and nursery school at Ewing Presbyterian Church.

Margaret Kalafut, 90, on July 30. She worked in the billing department at Hill Refrigeration for many years and later worked as a teacher’s aide in the Ewing school district.

Bartolomeo Padalino, 83, on July 25. He retired in 2017 after 60 years as the owner and operator of Bartolo’s Barber Shop in Lawrenceville. With his wife they also owned and operated Rose’s Laundromat, Melina’s Deli, and many commercial and residential properties.

Fredrick “Smokey” Allen, 80, on July 22. He retired from the Trenton Fire Department after 25 years of service. He was also a coach and umpire for the South Trenton Little League and a soccer referee for Mercer County.
