Philip Burgess, who operated Princeton-based Bristol Employee Services, a payroll service company, was found guilty of income tax evasion and failure to pay more than $1 million in taxes that he allegedly withheld from his employees, according to U.S. Attorney Paul Fishman. The 48-year-old Burgess was sentenced to eight months in prison and also must pay $3.5 million in back taxes, interest, and penalties to the IRS.
Stephen Parrish, an employee of Burgess’, was charged with failing to pay taxes on more than $500,000 in payments from the Burgess companies, Fishman said. Parrish was sentenced to three months in prison and three months of home confinement.

Richard Prospero, 71, on October 21. He was a mechanical engineer at Johnson & Johnson, where he developed machinery used in the manufacture of toothbrushes, dental floss, and other consumer products.
