Like 40 seeks actors for “Stalag 17,” a drama set in a German POW

Garden State Horror Writers will accept entries for the annual
short story contest from February 1 to March 15. The theme is
“Superstitions” and entries can be horror, science fiction, fantasy,
mystery, suspense, or thriller, not longer than 3,000 words. Visit

Montgomery Center for the Arts seeks watercolor, sculpture,
oil, and mixed media for the annual open juried exhibit opening in

Newark Black Film Festival is accepting entry applications for the
2006 Paul Robeson Awards. Long and short narratives, documentaries,
experimental, and animation films released since January, 2002, are
invited with a $35 entry fee. The six-week festival is devoted to
African and African-American cinema, history, presentation, and

AAA Mid-Atlantic invites high school students to tackle
questions in the fourth annual travel high school challenge to
identify America’s most travel-savvy teen. The scholarship contest is
a three-stage on-line competition that runs from January 9 to 17. The
top scorer in each state receives prizes and an expense-paid trip for
two to compete in the national finals in Orlando in May, 2006. The
contest is open to all students in grades 9 to 12. Register at

Greater Princeton Youth Orchestra and the Composers Guild
of New Jersey seek submissions of new symphonic compositions for an
inaugural “Composer Award.” One work will be selected for a May
performance in Princeton and the composer will receive $1,000.
Submissions should be between five and twelve minutes and the composer
must be available for a brief residence in Princeton in May. Visit

Riverside Symphonia announces its fifth biennial Caprio Young
Artists Competition open to all non-keyboard instrumentalists, 22
years or younger, who live or study in Pennsylvania or New Jersey.
