It’s hard to say which is longer, honoree Ingrid Reed’s list of civic achievements or the menu of passed hors d’oeuvres by one of the hottest caterers in Princeton right now, Joss and Jules.
On Sunday, November 21, 170 guests packed Morven to the rafters for a cocktail party honoring Ingrid Reed, director of the New Jersey Project at the Eagleton Institute of Politics at Rutgers, former board chair of New Jersey Future, and the inaugural senior fellow for New Jersey Future’s young professional development program.
According to Dan Fatton, outreach and development director for the Trenton nonprofit, “Next summer, we will welcome paid college interns to help our work on redevelopment, affordable housing, and state planning. New Jersey Future will continue to mentor and train the planners and leaders of tomorrow, pairing them with accomplished experts like our inaugural Senior Fellow, Ingrid Reed.” The event raised approximately $25,000 for the new program. Now back to those hors d’oeuvres. The waiters couldn’t bring the Kumamoto oyster shooters in sake mignonette sauce out fast enough but if you found yourself in waiting mode, you could have grilled filet mignon sushi, baby crab cakes with papaya and tamarind chutney, or white truffle risotto in edible parmesan cheese cups. The caterer’s smartest move: food tables in every room, including smoked fish and charcuterie tables. Book ’em, Danno.
