The Chapin School Princeton in Princeton has appointed Steven C. Bristol, M.S., Ed., as its permanent head of school following a unanimous vote by its board of trustees.
Bristol had served as interim head of school for the past eight months. The board confirmed his appointment at its March meeting, citing confidence in his leadership and direction for the school.
“Steve’s performance has been commendable,” said Board of Trustees President Michelle Bajwa. “His leadership has already contributed meaningfully to the stability and momentum that will support Chapin’s long-term strength.”
In accepting the role, Bristol pointed to the school’s 95-year history and its balance of academic rigor and character development as central to its mission.
“Eight months ago, I stepped into this role on an interim basis,” Bristol said. “What I did not anticipate was how fully these months would confirm what my wife Karyn and I discovered years ago when we first chose Chapin for our two youngest children, that this school has a rare and sustaining power. It is with that history, and with deep conviction, that I accept the position of Head of School.”
Bristol also emphasized his commitment to the school’s faculty, noting their role in delivering its educational mission and pledging to support their continued work.
Chapin School, founded more than 95 years ago, provides PreK–8 education in the Princeton area.
