Four in the morning

The fireworks are done

Most are still abed

Thunder rolls overhead

Lightning flashes across the sky

Rain falling straight

No wind at the open door

The storm cools the heated air

Answering the challenge of evening past

You call that fireworks?

Mother Nature laughs
