Lobbyist Kaufman Zita Buys West Trenton Station

The Kaufman Zita Group, a lobbying and public affairs firm, has moved its office from Vaughn Drive to the former West Trenton train station building on Sullivan Way in Ewing.

According to Patricia Zita, co-owner along with Adam Kaufman, the firm purchased the building in April from architectural firm Clarke Caton Hintz. The broker for the deal was Paul Goldman, senior managing director at Mercer Oak Realty in Ewing.

Zita said they performed renovations before moving in, but major work had been previously performed by Clarke Caton Hintz, which converted to building from a Masonic temple to office space.

The new building will help accommodate expansion at the firm, which has grown by four employees in the last three years. “The building is double what we had before,” says Zita. “On Vaughn Drive we had about 2,000 to 2,300 square feet. This building has over 4,300. We’ve had a few additions to the family in the past few years and we needed more space and a permanent home.”

The office’s proximity to the state capital, where as a lobbying firm they do much of their work, is also a boon as opposed to having to worry about getting caught up in the frequent traffic snarls between Princeton and Trenton. “We spend a lot of time in Trenton, and it’s wonderful being so close now,” says Zita.
