An Epic Destination for Local Food, Just Up the Road!

The organizers of the West Windsor Community Farmers Market have done it again this season! What began in 2004 as an entirely community-member led initiative to support New Jersey farmers with eight farmers and a baker has grown to host nineteen local farms from New Jersey and Pennsylvania, and over forty artisan food producers, a weekly knife/blade sharpener and food waste recovery/composting service.

You’ll enjoy seasonal fruits and vegetables, mushrooms, pastured poultry, beef, pork and eggs, honey, pesticide-free flowers, sourdough breads and baked goods, gluten-free and vegan savory and sweets, sustainable fish and seafood, barrel pickles, Polish, Indian, and Lebanese traditional favorites such as kielbasa, pierogi, mustards, masala and curries, hummus, baba ganouj, along with salsa, fresh pasta using locally sourced grains, ravioli, sauces, jams, cave-aged and fresh cheeses including goat cheeses, yogurt and milk, locally grown and freshly milled oats and grains, wine, alpaca fiber wear, vegan chocolates and gelato pops, and even dog treats made with local beef at this weekly open-air marketplace.

Breakfast/brunch offerings include a stroll with coffee, teas, freshly made crepes, wood-fired pizzas, cold-pressed juices and fresh sugar cane juice, acai bowls, pastries, air-baked empanadas, and samosas. In addition, culinary-related artists attend on a rotating schedule featuring hand-turned wooden bowls, cutting boards, functional pottery, placemats, market bags and more.

Market Manager, Chris Cirkus explains, “Creating community is what we do; from a vacant commuter lot at the Princeton Junction Train Station to a vibrant “pop-up downtown” filled with positive energy and delicious food, we invite you to join us this Saturday and experience the sights, sounds and tastes of our unique and diverse West Windsor Market!”

SNAP/EBT happily accepted and doubled up to $25 per card per market day towards fruits and vegetables. Several produce farms accept WIC/FMNP/SFMNP. Live music each Saturday, plus community groups, and occasional cooking demonstrations.
