Saint Peter’s Healthcare System has opened an urgent care center for children and adults in the Skillman section of Montgomery. Saint Peter’s Urgent Care Center began accepting patients — either walk-ins or by-appointment — on January 3. The center is open 365 days a year from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday through Friday and 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturdays, Sundays, and holidays.
Saint Peter’s Urgent Care Center in Skillman offers a broad array of services including testing for strep throat, flu, and blood sugar as well as offering general blood work, suturing where required, and radiology services such as X-rays. The center is designed to treat sudden ailments such as minor cuts and bruises, minor sports/orthopedic injuries, colds, coughs, fevers, asthma, back pain, and sore throat.
The center is staffed by board-certified emergency medicine physicians, a licensed practical nurse, a lab technician, an X-ray technician, and a clinical assistant/receptionist. Emergency medicine physicians rotate hours to fully staff the center at all times.
“The center helps fill the gap in availability of urgent care treatment in the surrounding community,” said Ronald C. Rak, president and CEO of Saint Peter’s Healthcare System. “We expect its launch to be warmly received by area residents.”
Saint Peter’s Urgent Care Center is located in the Village Shopper III shopping center. No appointments are necessary but patients may call 609-497-4597 to schedule a visit.
