James J. Kenny, PT, and Barbara E. Weber, MBA, are celebrating the 10-year anniversary of their joint venture: Pivotal Physical Therapy & Wellness Center, LLC. Located in Monroe Township, their practice was founded in June, 2002, to bring Jim’s decades of experience in hands-on, personalized rehabilitation to life in a warm, inviting setting designed by Barbara. Her extensive business background and expertise in leading teams have been used to implement processes that enable Pivotal’s staff to focus on the customer –– from initial inquiry through treatment and supplemental wellness services. During their first 10 years, Pivotal welcomed more than 3,000 customers to its outpatient facility, where they focus on treating orthopaedic and sports medicine conditions.

In addition to physical therapy, Pivotal provides wellness services including therapeutic massage, acupuncture, nutritional counseling, and Pilates instruction. Last year Pivotal welcomed Pilates teacher Andrea Bridges, a Level 5 instructor who completed Romana’s Teachers’ Certification Program at True Pilates Studio in New York City. Andrea’s background includes 28 years as a classical ballet dancer, achieving the title of Prima Ballerina and serving as artistic director and choreographer. She has successfully instructed individuals with scoliosis, multiple sclerosis, Parkinson’s disease, and joint replacements, and has enhanced the healthy bodies of professional athletes, musicians, dancers, and expectant mothers. At Pivotal, Andrea teaches the classical Pilates method during private, one-on-one sessions.

Pivotal’s Pilates instruction is taught with Balanced Body and Gratz apparatus including the Reformer, Cadillac, Ladder Barrel, and High Chair. Prices are $70 for each one-hour class on a class-by-class basis; $250 per month for weekly one-hour classes; or $450 per month for bi-weekly one-hour classes. The family rate of $225 per month is for one hour-long class per week for each of two or more family members.
