Outdoor musical theater is one of the great pleasures of summer. When you combine it with a cast of talented local teens, an experienced Broadway coach and a convenient open-air venue, you’ve got “Music Through the Decades.” All are invited to attend the free August 24 performance of the show at the Nassau Park Pavilion, which will feature professional sound and lighting. Showtime is 7 to 8 p.m.

A review of Broadway classics, “Music Through the Decades” marks the first public performance of West Windsor Arts Council’s new “Out of This World” Performance Troupe. The new musical theater program is under the direction of Broadway coach Ellen Renee, who teaches a “triple threat” approach, focusing on singing, dancing and acting.

Auditions for the show will be held next Wednesday, June 19th, from 5 to 7 p.m., at the West Windsor Arts Center, 952 Alexander Road, West Windsor.

“Our goal is to cultivate a positive, fun environment for everyone,” says Ellen Renee. “This program will strengthen our young performers’ Broadway repertoire and guide them through staging and choreography. We are here to put on a great show that gives everyone a chance to shine!”

The program runs July 10 to August 21 and meets on Wednesday evenings from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. For more information or to register, visit westwindsorarts.org or call 609-716-1931.
