As we enter 2024, Morven Museum & Garden is celebrating its 20th anniversary! Built in the 1750’s, Morven was first home to Richard Stockton, a signer of the Declaration of Independence, and was New Jersey’s first Governor’s mansion. Over the past 20 years, Morven has built a community of visitors, members, volunteers, and supporters, welcoming over 185,000 guests from far and wide — some as far as Australia!

Rated as one of the top four American Revolutionary sites in the State of New Jersey, Morven has presented 38 special exhibitions celebrating New Jersey’s cultural heritage, featuring topics such as needlework, Bell Labs, baseball, Bruce Springsteen, and currently on view through February 18, 2024, Striking Beauty: New Jersey Tall Case Clocks, 1730-1830. The first exhibition of its kind, Striking Beauty features over 50 New Jersey-made tall case clocks, from both private and public collections.

Beyond the museum, Morven is also home to a number of programs and events, including the annual holiday decorative display Festival of Trees, as well as workshops, lectures, performances, and private events. Morven gives back to the community by hosting Naturalization Ceremonies and donating upwards of 1.5 tons of produce to Arm in Arm, a Trenton based not-for-profit that supports food-insecure community members.

Morven Museum & Garden, located at 55 Stockton Street, Princeton, NJ is open Wednesdays through Sundays from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Morven’s five acres of gardens are free to wander daily from dawn to dusk. For more information, visit www.morven.org.
