Gentle Healing is the name of a wellness spa, retreat and educational center, and appropriately so: all three strive to create personal well being.

“Our mission at Gentle Healing is to create a community where everyone is involved in healing the body, expanding the mind and enlightening the soul,” said School Director Donda Sternberg. “We believe that mind, body, and spirit must be congruent to have true wellness and peace.”

Gentle Healing helps guests achieve this through the Gentle Healing Wellness Spa, the Gentle Healing “Suite” Retreat and the Educational Center. These are places where Eastern and Western philosophies harmonize to embody the true meaning of complimentary, alternative, and holistic healing.

“Our goal is to listen to the needs of each individual guest, customize and blend them with the experience and talent of our educated technicians, then layer them with superior products, and wrap it all up with kindness from our guest service staff,” Sternberg added.

The Gentle Healing Wellness Spa is nestled in a luxurious 1853 Queen Anne Victorian Farmhouse that was once featured on the tour of historical homes in Cranbury. Its comfortable, century-old rooms carry the soft scent of natural aromatherapy accented by a parlor fireplace and the colors of Victoriana. The Spa menu includes a variety of skincare and body treatments, hydrotherapy and massage, hand and foot care, waxing and packages. There are also monthly specials.

Private changing rooms house personal lockers, slippers, and robes. Guests may indulge in a variety of organic teas, wine, and the finest pure Fiji water. Since its focus is to create an atmosphere of comfort and relaxation, all of its guests are welcome to spend time after their services playing a game of checkers or backgammon by the warm fire in the luxurious dining room. There’s also a Master Suite with a private patio overlooking the grounds for celebrating any and all special occasions.

The Gentle Healing “Suite” Retreat is a separate building designed for a private retreat including jacuzzi tubs, a fireplace, and a cozy couch. It’s perfect for a couples get-away, friends’ mini-vacation or bachelorette party. Guests may choose from the Spa’s services and enjoy those in the privacy of a suite.

The Educational Center is a 5,500 square foot building, which is home to Gentle Healing’s accredited 600-hour Massage Therapy program, and several Continuing Educational courses for massage therapists and others who wish to explore the field of massage therapy and connected modalities.

“We offer all these wonderful options among our beautifully landscaped grounds featuring a wonderful gazebo, a swaying hammock, casual porches, sunlit patios and a beautiful garden area for relaxation and contemplation,” Sternberg explained. “All designed for you to dine, recline, and unwind at your leisure.”

Gentle Healing is open Monday to Friday, 9 a.m. to 9 p.m., and Saturday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. For more information, contact Gentle Healing at 609-409-2700, or sign-up for the e-mail list of monthly specials at www.gentlehealingspa.com.
