Buckingham Place provides the highest quality Adult Day Care and Home Health Care services to clients in Mercer, Middlesex, and Somerset counties. They are located on Route 522 in Monmouth Junction, minutes from their former assisted living facility. Director of Buckingham Place Hilary Murray says, “we still serve the greater Princeton area with the same professionalism we provided when we ran the assisted living facility, with many of the same, caring staff.”

Buckingham Place offers two main services: Adult Day Care (Medical & Social) and Home Health Care. Clients can use one or both services as needed.

The Adult Day Care Center is open Monday through Friday. Beth Brobst, RN, director of nursing, oversees all medication administration and is available for health and wellness consultations with members and their families, and can act as the liaison between participants and their physicians. Adult Day members may also receive physical therapy.

While clients are at Buckingham Place, Beth takes care of all their medical needs. “I try to make it as easy as possible for the families and help them out,” she says. “I tell them if I see something has changed with their health, sometimes before the family members notice the change.”

Additional services include a monthly support group for caregivers, providing valuable emotional as well as educational support, which is facilitated by social worker Minda Curtin and is open to the public. A mobile lab comes to the site to perform lab work, x-rays, and other testing as needed. Also a podiatrist visits every six weeks. There are plans to have an audiologist visit regularly to check on clients’ hearing.

“We provide a safe environment where we have trained professionals who can provide both nursing oversight and socialization,” Hilary says. “Our programs are very affordable. There are state grants available for caregivers who are caring for someone with memory loss. They subsidize three days a week on a sliding scale based on income. We also accept Medicaid and veterans benefits. Caregivers need to know they have affordable options.”

At Buckingham Place the clients are loved and have their medical needs taken care of, all while they socialize with their contemporaries. They benefit both the clients and the care givers with the attention they provide.

Says Beth: “I really enjoy working here because we are able to have relationships with both the clients and their families. It is a real joy.”
