Join Main Street Highland Park for our 11th annual Arts in the Park street festival, juried art show, and arts and crafts sale in downtown Highland Park on Sunday, September 20, from 11:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Downtown Highland Park’s main street is Raritan Avenue (Route 27), and will be closed to traffic for the day from 2nd to 5th Avenues. This outdoor event is free and open to the public, and free event parking can be conveniently found throughout Highland Park.

The annual celebration of the arts, which highlights a defining quality of Highland Park as a creative, multi-cultural, dynamic community, draws thousands of art enthusiasts, local residents, and visitors from around the region to stroll through downtown Highland Park and enjoy artistic offerings, live music, and other entertainment, food from local restaurants, children’s activities, promotional booths, and much more.

Artists, crafters, performers, and vendors will be participating. Participants in the juried art show display and sell their work under tents along Raritan Avenue. The art show features cash awards for first, second, and third places in seven categories: Painting, Sculpture, Photography, Fine Crafts, “Green” (recycled/found), Graphics/Drawing/Printmaking, and Mixed Media.

There will be over 150 artists, vendors, and eateries participating in the event. There will be live music all day long on three different stages, a dance & spoken word stage, and a Kids Zone that includes hands-on interactive kids’ activities as well as a Youth Art Show. Additionally, Pino’s Wine Shoppe will be hosting a wine and beer garden at the event.

Arts in the Park is a Main Street Highland Park event, sponsored by Unity Bank and is funded in part by Middlesex County Board of Chosen Freeholders, Middlesex County Cultural and Heritage Commission with the assistance through a grant provided by New Jersey State Council on the Arts/Department of State. Main Street Highland Park is a non-profit 501c3 community and economic development organization, dedicated to the preservation and enhancement of downtown Highland Park.
