WOMEN SEEKING MEN
Single, friendly, calm lady seeking a man between 50-55, 5’10” or taller, who is animal-loving, easy-going, a non-smoker and non-drinker, and has a good sense of humor. I’m interested in the outdoors, hiking, bicycling, swimming, the arts, mountains or the shore, etc. If this sounds like you and you share similar interests, send me a note. Box 238599.

To lady fair 238599,
serenely seeking Cupid’s rosy link,
I hope that with your dreams I might align.
I top 6’ — or so I’d like to think —
but does size really matter in the end?
My self esteem lies elsewhere, says my shrink.
Like you, my dear, I truly need a friend
and willingly would go outside to watch
you from some wooded Pocono descend.
And at the beach I’ll find a shaded notch
while in the surf you frolic and delight.
As I remember Jaws I’ll swig some Scotch.
O, lady fair, I know that can’t be right.
No potent potable will pass these lips.
And of my pack of Kools you’ll catch no sight.
But art and pets: these things for us are pips:
I have some prints of poker-playing hounds
and always watch those You-Tube kitty clips.
At 55 I still could make the rounds.
Eleven extra years? I’m in my prime
and good intent like mine, it’s clear, abounds.
For love’s connection now indeed’s the time,
if only U.S. 1 will print my rhyme.
