Volunteers are welcome to join Friends of Princeton Open Space (FOPOS) in half-day, family-friendly sessions for FOPOS’ MLK Day of Service on Monday, January 16. Meet at the Mountain Lakes House event parking lot. Register at www.fopos.org/getinvolved.

Capital Harmony Works, the home of Trenton Music Makers and Trenton Children’s Chorus, gives a community concert in Princeton, in honor of Martin Luther King Day and the National Day of Service.

The concert takes place on Monday, January 16, at 6 p.m., at Trinity Church, 33 Mercer Street, Princeton. Although in past years this concert was offered with free admission as a gift to the community, this year Capital Harmony Works is inviting the audience to lean into the holiday’s significance as a day of service by contributing non-perishable foods, or a monetary donation, for the food bank at Arm in Arm.

Trenton Music Makers, launched in 2015, is a five-day afterschool orchestra for Trenton students in Grades 1-12, and is the sibling program of Music for the Very Young and Trenton Children’s Chorus. For more information on the January 16 concert, visit capitalharmony.works/events.

Join West Windsor Arts Council and the African American Parent Support Group as they partner with local agencies to provide much needed assistance to the people they serve.

Register individually via EventBrite for timeslots. Families, clubs, or corporate groups are welcome. The total number of volunteer spots are limited for the safety of participants.

“Donations organizers” will work inside West Windsor Arts to package donations as they arrive into kits to be ready for delivery. Anyone may donate items; registration is not required. Bring your donated items to West Windsor Arts on the day of the event between 10 a.m. and 3 p.m. on through Friday, January 13, between 10 a.m. and 6 p.m.
