Morven Museum and Garden is showing its historic colors by inviting the region to meet George Washington as he arrives to have tea with poet and patriot Annis Boudinot Stockton, a former Morven resident and wife of Declaration of Independence signer Richard Stockton.

It’s part of the annual free July Fourth Jubilee, running outside the museum from noon to 3 p.m. Other celebratory events include a performance by Annis Stockton re-enactor Alisa Dupuy, Colonial-era domestic arts demonstrations, live bluegrass music, family pricing for the museum, and more. www.morven.org

Washington Crossing State Park’s Revolutionary War-era Johnson Ferry House celebrates with sweets and songs from 1 to 5 p.m. Food historian Susan McLellan Plaisted will be sharing the secret of making 18th century ice cream — and handing out samples in the process. She will be joined by country fiddler Jim Kurzenberger, who will play Revolution-era tunes. Other attractions include chances to tour the farm house, kitchen garden, and the old stone bar woodshop where interpreters will be on hand to bring history alive. And at 2 p.m. is the traditional reading of the Declaration of Independence and musket firing demonstration at the nearby Visitors Center.

The events are free, but the parking fee applies ($5 to $7). 609-737-2515.
