Call for Posters

Preservation New Jersey (PNJ) seeks submissions for the 2026 Student Poster Session at the 2026 NJ History & Historic Preservation Conference, an initiative that closely aligns with PNJ’s mission to advance historic preservation education and to engage the next generation of preservation professionals.

Proposals are due by Friday, March 6, and can be submitted by visiting www.njpreservationconference.org/participate.

The Poster Session provides an important platform for undergraduate students, graduate students, and emerging professionals (those who have graduated within the past two years) to present project-based work in historic preservation, history, archaeology, architecture, planning, museum studies, and public history. By emphasizing creative, visual storytelling, the session encourages participants to share research where material culture, the built environment, and visual evidence play a central role.

Monetary prizes will be awarded to the top three posters:

First Place: $750

Second Place: $500

Third Place: $250

These awards are intended to recognize outstanding scholarship, creativity, and contributions to the fields of history and historic preservation, while encouraging continued involvement in preservation work.

Call for Exhibitors

The Doylestown Arts Festival seeks local and regional artists, musicians, and art activities for its 35th annual event. Applications will be accepted online through Friday, March 27.

This year’s event is scheduled for Saturday and Sunday, September 12 and 13, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily. The festival is free to the public.

Festival organizers are accepting online applications for the 2026 event from independent artists and live performers. Participating artists and musicians will have the opportunity to showcase their unique talents to thousands of locals and visitors in an outdoor marketplace that takes over the streets of Doylestown.

The Festival will also be seeking partnerships with local art and cultural institutions that are interested in engaging the community and visitors at the event. The Doylestown Arts Festival is proud to promote Doylestown and Bucks County on a national level, including putting a spotlight on Doylestown’s art and cultural district.

To round out the experience, the Doylestown Arts Festival is seeking applications for art-based activities to help build an exciting energy throughout the event and unify the town-wide experience around the arts.

Call for Donors

The Old Barracks Museum in Trenton invites members of the public to join in recreating the triumphal Washington’s Flower Arch. Donations will help to create a temporary Washington Flower Arch for the grand opening of new exhibits on July 4, 2026. The museum’s original historic arch will also be on display that day for the first time in decades.

“When George Washington made his inaugural march through Trenton, it was the people of this city who came together to assemble the triumphal arch to welcome him and decorated it with flowers,” said Michelle Doherty, executive director of the Old Barracks Museum. “Through their donations, supporters are helping us recreate the arch featured in our new exhibit while also sustaining the Old Barracks Museum and the important work we do every day. It’s a joyful, hands-on way to be part of bringing this powerful moment in Trenton’s history back to life.”

Donations of $25 allow you to add a personalized dyed wood flower to the recreated arch. Donations of $250 include the flower plus an invitation to an exclusive preview of the new exhibits on June 23. Those who donate $2,500 will receive all of the aforementioned benefits as well as donor recognition on the entrance screen of the Old Barracks Museum.

The recreated arch will be unveiled during the Semiquincentennial celebrations at the Old Barracks. Donors can participate in a group photo at 3 p.m. on July 4. Flowers will be available for pickup immediately after the photo. Visit www.barracks.org for more information.
