Call for Performers

The Arts Council of Princeton is inviting local musicians, performers, and residents to participate in Princeton Porchfest 2026, a free, community-wide music festival taking place Saturday, April 25, from noon to 6 p.m.

Porchfest transforms front porches, stoops, yards, and other outdoor spaces throughout Princeton into stages for live performances. The event encourages audiences to stroll through town and enjoy a wide variety of music and performance styles in a welcoming neighborhood setting.

Performers of all genres are encouraged to apply to present a 45-minute set. There is no fee to participate, and acts range from solo musicians to full bands.

The Arts Council is also seeking Porch Hosts, which are community members willing to offer their porch or outdoor space as a performance site. Hosts must be located within walking distance of other performance locations and provide access to electrical power for performers. Princeton Porchfest is free and open to the public.

Applications for performers and porch hosts are due Thursday, February 12, at 11:59 p.m.

In celebration of the nation’s 250th anniversary, Capital Singers will present three performances of “The Testament of Freedom,” featuring the music of Randall Thompson, R. Nathaniel Dett, James Syler, Adolphus Hailstork, and others, honoring their contributions to the art of choral singing and the freedoms we enjoy.

Join for a starting rehearsal on Sundays, January 25 or February 1, from 4 to 6 p.m. For details, email capitalsingers@gmail.com or call 609-434-2781.

East Brunswick-based Philomusica Concert Choir seeks experienced amateur singers for the upcoming season. If you can read music and enjoy challenging repertoire in a supportive, balanced co-ed ensemble, your voice is needed and will be heard.

All voices are welcome, but tenors and basses are especially encouraged to audition. No prepared solo is required to audition. Previous choir experience preferred but not required.

Auditions take place Tuesdays, January 20 and 27 and February 3 from 7:30 to 10 p.m. in conjunction with the choir’s regular rehearsals at the Unitarian Society of East Brunswick, 176 Tices Lane, East Brunswick.
