ActorsNET of Bucks County has announced open auditions for its season finale, “Love’s Labour’s Lost” by William Shakespeare.
Directors George Hartpence and Carol Thompson seek 17 actors for this Shakespearean cascade of adventure featuring a forest chase, lovers lost and found, and an ending full of hope for true love. Performances take place June 14 through 30 at the theater. Two additional performances are scheduled for Fonthill Castle in Doylestown on July 12 and 13.
Auditions take place Saturday, March 9, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.; Tuesday and Wednesday, March 12 and 13, from 7 to 9 p.m.; and Saturday, March 16, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.
Auditions will take place at ActorsNET, 635 North Delmorr Avenue in Morrisville, Pennsylvania. Please fill out the audition form available online to sign up. After submitting, you will receive an email confirming your appointment within a few days. Appointments are strongly encouraged, though walk-ins will be seen on an availability basis.
Auditions will consist of readings from the script. Sides are available for download on the ActorsNET website and will be available on-site at the theater.

Kelsey Theater on the campus of Mercer County Community College in West Windsor is offering auditions for two upcoming productions.
“Bright Star,” a new musical by Steve Martin and Edie Brickell, will be produced by Maurer Productions Onstage on Fridays through Sundays from May 31 through June 9.
Inspired by a true story, “Bright Star” tells a tale of love and redemption set against the rich backdrop of the American South in the 1920s and ’40s. When literary editor Alice Murphy meets a young soldier just home from World War II, he awakens her longing for the child she once lost. Haunted by their unique connection, Alice sets out on a journey to understand her past—and what she finds has the power to transform both of their lives.
Auditions take place Saturday, March 9, from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m., and Sunday, March 10, from 4 to 8 p.m., at the theater at 1200 Old Trenton Road, West Windsor. Callbacks by invitation only are Monday, March 11.

Prepare 32 measures in the style of the show (Bluegrass, folk-pop.) Please bring sheet music in the correct key. An accompanist will be provided. No a capella auditions or recorded accompaniments are permitted. Some auditioners may be asked to read a short excerpt from the script. Auditioners should wear comfortable clothing/shoes and be prepared to dance. Please download and complete the Audition Form prior to your audition. Bring the completed Audition Form, all conflicts, resume, and photo.
Yardley Players Theatre Company presents “The Sound of Music” by arrangement with Concord Theatricals on behalf of The Rodgers Hammerstein Organization. Performances are Fridays through Sundays, June 28 through July 7.

Classes Available
Literacy NJ Mercer is offering free in person Citizenship classes Mondays, April 1 through June 24, at Princeton Public Library, from 6 to 8 p.m. This 12-week session will meet weekly and prepare students for the citizenship test and interview. These classes are free, and the only requirements are that students should have a Green Card and know basic English reading, writing, and speaking.
Literacy NJ Mercer is also offering free online GED (HSE) Classes from April through June for 18 years and older Mercer County residents. These free classes will be held online on Zoom — math on Wednesdays and Reading and Writing on Thursdays. Classes will run for two hours once a week and cover reading, writing, and math materials found on the GED exam.

Jobs for Teens
Princeton Human Services is opening applications for their annual Summer Youth Employment Program (SYEP). This program has been a gateway for youth into the adult world of work and has provided numerous working opportunities to youth in Princeton. In the summer of 2023, SYEP provided jobs to more than 40 students in municipal departments and local non-profit organizations. In addition to summer employment the program includes job readiness training, financial coaching, and career development.
Participants must live in Princeton, must be between the ages of 14 and 18 as of July 1, 2024, and their family income must not exceed 400 percent of the 2023 US federal poverty level. Participants work 25 hours a week and earn minimum wage ($13.73/hr.) for 8 weeks during the summer.
