Although the Spirit of Princeton’s Annual Memorial Day Parade, originally scheduled for Saturday, May 23, has been cancelled, the Spirit of Princeton organization nevertheless will commemorate the holiday with a virtual wreath-laying ceremony on Monday, May 25, at 11 a.m. The community will be able to tune into the service on Facebook and see the wreath-laying ceremony, featuring Spirit of Princeton co-chair Kam Amirzafar, and a member from each the Princeton Fire Department and the Princeton First Aid Squad. View the ceremony at www.facebook.com/spiritofprinceton.

For those unable to catch the event on Facebook live, a link to the ceremony will be posted on the Spirit of Princeton website or this can be viewed at a later time on our Facebook page.

This annual salute to all those who have served our nation, however, will be back in real life as vibrant as ever in May, 2021. COVID-19 may have thwarted the parade, but in no way has dampened our spirit and commitment to the community.

No decision has been made yet as to Spirit of Princeton’s Flag Day ceremony scheduled for June 15.

The Memorial Day Parade and commemoration ceremony are financed by the Spirit of Princeton, a charitable non-profit group of local residents dedicated to bringing the community together through a variety of civic events, including the Memorial Day Parade, Flag Day Ceremony, and the Veterans’ Day Ceremony.

Donations to Spirit of Princeton are encouraged to ensure the future of these events. See the website for information on how you can “Get into the Spirit” by donating.

For further information about the parade or any of the associated activities, please call: 609-430-0144 or check website: www.spiritofprinceton.org.
