Since 1993 small business has stolen the spotlight in the capital city during the third week in October. Starting with the “Kick Off Networking Breakfast” on Monday, October 20, at 8 a.m. at the Trenton Marriott, Trenton Small Business Week returns for its 15th year.
The week features 20 free workshops, four networking sessions, and the Mercer Chamber Business Expo. It concludes on Friday, October 24, at 6 p.m. with the Renaissance Ball of Trenton. Tickets for the ball, also held at the Trenton Marriott, are $175.
Befitting the week’s ambition to promote and enhance small business in the city and beyond, the kick off breakfast opens with “Opportunity of Trenton,” a discussion led by David Henderson of HHG Development Associates, a Trenton-based architecture firm.
From here, a series of workshops and networking events, led by some of the area’s most successful small business owners, take over at various spots across the city (see page TK for list of events). Highlights include sessions on growing business, finding and utilizing resources, environmental issues, employee relations, and intellectual property.
The week coincides with the Mercer Chamber’s general membership luncheon, which will be held on Tuesday, October 21, at 11:30 a.m. at the Trenton Marriott. Cost to attend is $60 and is the only event other than the Renaissance Ball that comes with an entry fee.
