TerraCycle, one of Trenton’s best home-grown business success stories of recent years, is getting the public offering it sought, and is also getting a street named after it. The company, which recycles a broad array of products — everything from worm poop to cigarette butts — has been located in Trenton almost since its inception. (Its earliest incarnation in 2003 was on Nassau Street in Princeton, but in 2004 founder Tom Szaky moved the company to New York Avenue in Trenton.)
Now TerraCycle has been qualified by the SEC for a $25 million Regulation A offering that it applied for last year. (U.S. 1, November 1, 2017.) The stock offering is open to all investors. The first shares will trade at $100 each, with a minimum buy of seven shares.
The company has made its mark on Trenton’s economy. It employs about 60 people at its headquarters and boasts about $30 million in revenue. TerraCycle is also literally putting its name on the map, as the city of Trenton is naming a street in its honor. Hillside Avenue, the two-block side street that runs from New York Avenue to Brunswick Avenue, is now called TerraCycle Way.
