Janet L. Ready has been named the new president of the University Medical Center of Princeton. She replaces Mark Jones, who was made senior vice president, network development, for Princeton HealthCare System, the parent company of the hospital. Ready was also given a role in PHCS as senior vice president.

Ready started the job Monday, October 27.

“We conducted a thorough national search, and Janet stood out as a leader who can guide our hospital in today’s dynamic healthcare environment,” said PHCS President and CEO Barry S. Rabner. “As a member of our senior management team, she will help us meet new challenges as we build on our tradition of exceptional patient care.”

Ready is a graduate of Columbia University in New York, where she earned a bachelor of science in nursing and two master’s degrees: one in public health with a focus on health administration and an MBA with a concentration in finance.

Ready previously served as president of Vassar Brothers Medical Center in Poughkeepsie, New York, as COO of Crystal Run Healthcare in Middletown, New York, and vice president, administration, of Hudson Valley Hospital Center in Peekskill, New York.
