No Bahamas Flights From Trenton

Frontier Airlines has canceled plans to offer service to the Bahamas from Trenton-Mercer Airport. The flights were announced in August and were to begin on November 20. The Bahamas service would have been the first international route in the history of the airport.

The airline announced in a statement that the service to Nassau was cancelled because of lack of demand, blaming a shortfall in predicted hotel capacity. Frontier, which is the only commercial airliner at Trenton-Mercer, also canceled its Bahamas flights from Washington Dulles Airport.

Customers who already bought tickets for flights will be refunded or can change their destination to Florida, the statement said.

Frontier flies to 18 domestic cities from Trenton-Mercer.
