Princeton Health to Close Plainsboro Fitness Center

Penn Medicine Princeton Health has announced that it will be closing Princeton Fitness & Wellness at Plainsboro in order to repurpose the space currently occupied by the facility.

The gym will close on December 31, 2022. PMPH’s other fitness facility, at 1225 State Road in Skillman, will remain open. Current members of the Plainsboro facility will be able to transfer their memberships to the Skillman facility or to the RWJ Hamilton Fitness & Wellness Center at 3100 Quakerbridge Road in Hamilton.

In a statement, PMPH noted that the strategic plan determined that “additional space is required on the Princeton Medical Center campus to meet the increasing demand for medical care and services” and closing the Fitness & Wellness space will allow PMPH “to better serve patients and the broader community.”

The statement continues:

“The Krogh Outpatient Rehabilitation site will remain in place. Princeton Health is evaluating options to relocate hospital-based services, such as Cardiac and Pulmonary Rehabilitation, to the fitness center space and developing plans for an ambulatory care center.

“We appreciate the center staff’s commitment to helping individuals pursue their fitness goals over the past 10 years.”
