Still stumped on what AI is or how it could affect the business world? The Princeton Mercer Regional Chamber of Commerce’s “Transforming Your Organization with Artificial Intelligence” leads the way on what this technology could do to change our modern understandings of corporate efficiency.
The program will explore how companies can strategically incorporate artificial intelligence into their day-to-day operations through a panel discussion with three AI and digital marketing experts looking to “share their insights on how to propel your growth and revolutionize your organization,” according to the PMRC page for the event, for attendees at every level of familiarity with the subject.
The event takes place Tuesday, April 16, from 8 to 10 a.m. at the NJM Insurance Group building, 301 Sullivan Way, in West Trenton. Cost: $25 for chamber members, $40 for non-members, including breakfast. For more information and to register, visit the PMRC event calendar at business.princetonmercerchamber.org/chamber-events.
PMRC event coordinator Amy Rosica explains that the session aims to define and “demystify” AI, with the speakers sharing not only how the technology works, but how to apply that knowledge using various programs or software to automate organizational tasks. She added that since the event is presented by the Chamber’s Central NJ Nonprofit Council, they will also delve into the ethical implications surrounding AI in the workplace while breaking down the unique benefits for both the for-profit and nonprofit sectors.
Moderated by Derris Boomer, the founder and CEO of Boomer Technology Group, the panel includes Kenneth Cohen, an associate professor at SUNY Cortland; CJ Bachmann, the CEO of 1SEO Digital Agency; and Matt Montellione, the CEO of Royce Brook Media.
According to a 2023 Forbes Advisor survey and an article on its findings by contributor Katherine Haan, businesses are open to or already implementing AI across applications like customer service, cybersecurity, and customer relationship management, while nearly half of respondents also voiced concerns over “technology dependence and potential workforce reduction” as a result of the technology. Other common uses include content generation, such as chatbot platforms like ChatGPT, digital assistants, and data analysis.
Boomer established BTG, an information technology services firm and management consulting group headquartered on Wall Street in Princeton, in 2011. He has more than 20 years of experience in global systems implementation and technology solutions, having previously worked for companies such as IBM, Tiffany & Co., Ralph Lauren, and Accenture.
In addition to serving on the faculty of the recreation, parks, and leisure studies department at SUNY Cortland, Cohen is the founder of the independent think tank International Sustainable Development Institute. Through his many research projects and oversight of international travel programs, Cohen is considered a subject-matter expert on intercultural communication.
According to his PMRC biography, “Early in the advent of access to generative AI, Dr. Cohen began developing a model for organizations seeking to harness AI’s capacity to optimize productivity while enriching organizational culture. That practical and actionable model is now being shared in workshops and presentations across the country.”
Bachmann, a digital marketing leader and management professional who took the reins of 1SEO in 2021, also runs the blog “SheHandlesIt” as an online resource for fellow women in business.
Montellione initially established Royce Brook Media to offer design services, but after the business developed a lead generation system, “Outsell Pro,” they successfully shifted to helping “B2B companies generate more qualified leads through strategic outbound marketing campaigns,” as his PMRC bio continues, to “increase the effectiveness of their sales team and close more deals in less time.”
