Robin Harris has been named the new executive director of the Council of Ivy Group Presidents, which has its offices on Alexander Road. As such, the attorney, recruited from the Indianapolis office of Ice Miller LLP, will oversee Ivy League sports.

She replaces Jeffrey H. Orleans, who retires after 25 years in the position, which Harris will assume on July 1.

Harris, a graduate of Duke who also earned a J.D. from that university, joined Ice Miller in 2002. She is the co-chair of the firm’s collegiate sports practice. She previously worked for the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) where her last position was associate chief of staff for Division I.

As executive director of the Ivy League office, Harris will include responsibility for overseeing the 33 Ivy League sports in which 8,000 student-athletes participate each year.

Council of Ivy Group Presidents, 228 Alexander Street, Princeton 08544; 609-258-6426; fax, 609-258-1690. Jeffrey Orleans, executive director; Robin Harris, incoming executive director. www.ivyleaguesports.com.
