The Federal Trade Commission estimates that approximately 10 million Americans have their identities stolen each year. To help combat those statistics, the McGraw-Hill Federal Credit Union will present “Identity Theft: The Silent Crime — How to Prevent, Protect, and Recover” on Wednesday, August 24, from 5:30 to 7 p.m. at 120 Windsor Center Drive in East Windsor. The free program is open to credit union members, New Jersey teachers, and the employees of the credit union’s participating organizations.
“Identity theft is a growing concern as more and more of us continue to use the Internet, credit cards and debit cards for purchases. It can be easily prevented if the public becomes aware of how thieves are able to steal personal information,” says Shawn Gilfedder, president and CEO of McGraw-Hill FCU.
