The headlines from Europe may sound like doom and gloom, but smart investors and entrepreneurs are looking to the long term. To explore the possibilities Rutgers’ Center for European Studies (CES) will host its fourth European Union-New Jersey Business Forum, focused on technology and innovation, on Thursday, February 23, from 8:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at the John J. Heldrich Center for Workforce Development, 30 Livingston Avenue, New Brunswick.

Uri Dadush, director of the International Economics Program at the Carnegie Endowment for International Peace, will present the keynote address following two panel discussions by business leaders and public officials.

Breakfast, refreshments, and lunch will be provided. There is no fee to attend, but registration is required and space is limited. Register at www.surveymonkey.com/s/RutgersTechForum. For more information E-mail european@rci.rutgers.edu.

According to the Center for European Studies, the forums are intended to “raise awareness in the state’s business community of the European Union and of the potential for stronger EU-New Jersey trade, investment, and R&D ties.” A coalition of partners, including the New Jersey Business Action Center, the state agency that provides resources for growth and development to companies looking to do business globally, the European-American Chamber of Commerce of New Jersey, the New Jersey Technology Council, and Rutgers’ Heldrich Center works together to organize the forums.

The coalition is funded by a “Getting to Know Europe” grant from the Delegation of the European Union to the United States in Washington, D.C.
