The spirit of innovation is alive and well on the Princeton University campus, where the Princeton Entrepreneurship Council hosts a series of free panel discussions on Tuesday, May 9. One-hour sessions run from 2:30 to 5:30 p.m. in the computer science building at the corner of William and Olden streets. To register and for more information visit entrepreneurs.princeton.edu.
The panels include a mix of current students, recent alumni, and big names in the Princeton business community. The first panel is on the university’s new certificate program in entrepreneurship and features student panelists as well as Chris Kuenne of Rosemark Capital and Sharham Hejazi of BioAdvance.
The panel on women entrepreneurs includes recent alumnae Meg Partridge of Deia, Danielle Cohen-Shohet of Gloss Genius, and Carla Bahri of Volumetric. A final panel on global trends in entrepreneurship consists of Gordon Ritter of Emergence Capital Partners, Geoff Yang of Redpoint Ventures, and Daphne Earp of Yext.
The focus on entrepreneurship continues with the Princeton Area Alumni Association’s free monthly Princeton Propellers networking event at 6 p.m. at the Quadrangle Club, 33 Prospect Avenue, Princeton. Register online at propellers.princetonaaa.org.
The featured speaker is Tyler Hopf, the creative director of IrisVR, a New York-based firm that builds software for the architecture, engineering, and construction industries to bring 3D models into virtual reality. He speaks on “Remodeling Reality: Designing for and with Virtual Reality,” focusing on the history of design tools and the challenges of moving from two-dimensional to three-dimensional interactions. Hopf received a master’s in architecture from Princeton in 2015.
