Entrepreneurship Day At Rutgers University

Rutgers University is hosting its third annual Entrepreneurship Day for tech entrepreneurs and hopefuls who might otherwise not know how to get in with the investor crowd. The event takes place on Monday, November 14, at 10 a.m. at the Rutgers College Avenue Student Center in New Brunswick. The event is free, but registration is required. Keynote address by Steve Wozniak, co-founder of Apple, and a special address by Lt. Governor Kim Guadagno. Call 732-698-8704 or E-mail MCrews@vpr.rutgers.edu.

The event will teach attendees how to attract capital to launch their high tech ventures and how government is helping small businesses, and will put startups in touch with investors, technologists, and entrepreneurs who have navigated the startup ecosystem.

Rutgers recommends that while the content of the poster is up to the individual presenter, entrepreneurs, investors, and other business professionals will comprise a significant amount of the audience. “Overly technical slides may not be the most effective way to communicate,” the school advises. “Likewise, if you are seeking funding or alternate forms of business support, you want to address pertinent topics such as market size, competitive advantage, management team, intellectual property, and accomplishments to date.

Anyone interested in presenting a poster must register at pitch.rutgers.edu.
