The McGraw-Hill Federal Credit Union, 120 Windsor Center Drive in East Windsor, raised more than $20,000 for the newly formed VOICE Foundation at its 2009 Charity Golf Classic on September 8.

The VOICE Foundation, founded by the credit union earlier this year, promotes and manages the credit union’s charitable activities and participates in financial literacy education and other programs that reflect the interests of the local community and credit union members.

Wawa, which has a chain of convenience store around the state, recently presented a $50,000 check to Eden Autism Services, based in Hamilton. The company formed a relationship with Eden 28 years ago.

NRG Energy, based at 212 Carnegie Center, recently gave $30,000 to the Mercer Street Friends Food Bank in an effort to ensure that 150 Mercer County children in need have meals each weekend throughout the school year. through the food bank’s Send Hunger Packing program. On Friday afternoons the program provides back packs filled with kid friendly, easy-to-open, and nutritionally sound food to schools in the area.
