Better Access To Business Info

Share post:

In an effort to speed up public access to business records, the state has revamped the business portal on its website for the second time this year.

The historically tangled state business webpage is legendary among entrepreneurs and business owners for being hard to navigate and slow to return information. But this latest upgrade (the first since May) allows businesses to file and search Uniform Commercial Code (UCC) records online through a new suite of services called the “Business Records Service.”

The BRS (www.njportal.com/brs) offers easier access to status reports for business entity, trade name, and trade/service marks; copies of filed business entity documents; and business entity, trade name, and trade/service mark lists. All these records can now be accessed in digital form, and users can create their own printed copies of the documents rather than waiting for them to be sent through the mail or picked up at the Division of Revenue office in Trenton. The service is available round the clock and automatically calculates any service fees involved.
