U.S. 1 Crashes a Fashion Show

Last year the kick-it-up-a-notch factor at the annual Palmer Square Fashion Show was weddings — replete with bridal gowns, flower girls and Chez ALice wedding cake. This year the kick-it-up-a-notch factor came from, well, pooches. Several of the models in the Sunday, October 13, show came down the runway with a dog in tow, bedecked in canine couture courtesy of Will Hassett, owner of Pawtisserie (see photo, top center, this page).

The ballroom at the Nassau Inn was packed with men and women of all ages, taking inventory of this year’s fashions, thanks to the show’s three sections: Career, Weekend, and Evening. The models, gorgeous and sleek with hair styled by Salon Via a Vis and makeup by bluemercury, both on Palmer Square, showcased everything from dressy styles for tots to eyeglasses from Au Courant Opticians, jewelry from Dandelion, and shoes by Nine West. Design Within Reach provided ultra-modern chairs for the VIP section, which looked like they would fit right in on the design floor of the Museum of Modern Art.

Again this year, the show benefitted the Trenton chapter of Dress for Success.
