Audition

The New Jersey Symphony Orchestra will hold auditions for the pilot season of the NJSO Colton Fellowship during the week of June 3. The fellowship is designed to support musicians from underrepresented communities. For fellowship eligibility and application details, visit www.njsymphony.org/fellowship.

Volunteer

Two free Sourland Stream Monitor Training workshops are set for Thursday, May 16, and Saturday, May 18. The May 16 session will be held at the Historic Hunt Barn from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m., and the May 18 session will be held at Zion Crossing from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. No experience necessary. Register.

The Sourland Conservancy will host several planting days this spring, working to plant over 3,000 native wildflowers, shrubs and trees. If you or your group have a few hours to offer, visit www.sourland.org or send an email to info@sourland.org.

First Aid Training

Jacqueline Bienenstock, director of the psychiatric acute care unit at Hackensack Meridian Health Carrier Clinic, will present “Mental Health First Aid,” the five steps to saving a person in crisis, on Saturday, May 18, from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the Carrier Clinic’s Belle Mead campus. Grant Applications

The Mercer County Division of Culture and Heritage administers two grant programs: Local Arts Grant Program and History Re-Grant Program. They are offered annually for eligible nonprofit Mercer County-based organizations. Application deadline is July 12.
