YOBC creates opportunities for young musicians to achieve artistic excellence through enriching classical music experiences. Students join YOBC because they love music and want to play challenging and exciting repertoire with other young musicians. YOBC offers an exceptional music program which includes weekly band and orchestra rehearsals throughout the academic year, opportunities to work with world-class guest artists and educators, and workshops and international concert tours.
YOBC’s core ensemble program includes three concert bands, two full orchestras, and three string orchestras
Winds, brass, and percussion students may have the opportunity to play in both concert band and full orchestra ensembles, depending on their ensemble placement
Students must participate in their school music programs to be in YOBC. Except for first year elementary band students, all students are required to take private lessons upon acceptance. Tuition assistance is available.
