Call for Singers

Paper Mill Playhouse has open auditions for the Paper Mill Playhouse Broadway Show Choir. The choir is a tuition-free performance show choir of close to 40 singers and dancers between the ages of 16 and 22 that perform throughout New Jersey. Prepare a pop/rock song or upbeat musical theater piece of approximately 32 bars. Bring sheet music in your key. Be prepared to dance. Students will be taught a dance combination to be performed in small groups. Volunteer Please

Womanspace seeks family law attorneys to volunteer to assist survivors of domestic and sexual violence in a monthly legal clinic in Lawrenceville. The goal is to provide an opportunity for a one time consultation that can help clients clarify their unique situation and to explore their legal options. Consultations are private and 35 minutes in duration. They are scheduled by appointment only by Womanspace staff. Womanspace also seeks volunteers to join its Domestic Violence Victim Response Team and Sexual Assault Support Services Advocate Team. Team members work in conjunction with local police and hospital staff to provide victims support, information, and referrals during the most critical time. Interested persons must be 18 years of age or older, as well as a resident of or employee in the Mercer County area with a valid driver’s license, available transportation, and the ability to attend trainings and meetings. Volunteers may not have either a criminal history or prior history as a defendant in a domestic violence or sexual assault-related matter.

Lego Event

Barnes & Noble at 869 Route 1 South in North Brunswick will host its inaugural LEGO Architecture event in celebration of LEGO’s new launch, LEGO Architecture Studio, on Monday, July 29 at 7 p.m. Adult and teen participants will have the opportunity to reference the LEGO 250 guide book, experiment, and create original architectural designs with more than 1,200 monochromatic building pieces, and learn architectural concepts. Clean-Up Time

New Jersey Clean Communities Council is coordinating the New Jersey leg of the 2013 International Coastal Clean Up on Saturday, September 21. Princeton Learning Cooperative seeks volunteers to work with teen members for the upcoming academic year. PLC volunteers work in a variety of academic and non-academic areas through one-on-one tutoring, leading a class or activity, or offering one-time workshops. Volunteers in computers, architecture, photography, musical instruments, history, small business, ancient history, mythology, chemistry, animal behavior, and world languages are especially needed.
