Morven Museum & Garden in Princeton presents its annual Morven in May, Friday through Sunday, May 1 through 3.
The event includes a Friday night preview party and a fine craft and heirloom plant sale on Saturday and Sunday, May 2 and 3.
Proceeds from the weekend are dedicated to supporting the museum’s exhibitions, educational programs, and gardens.
This year 35 professional American artisans working in glass, ceramics, decorative and wearable fiber, jewelry, wood, and mixed media were selected by jurors James Steward, Princeton University Art Museum director, David Rago, founding partner of Rago Arts, and Veronica Roberts, curator of modern and contemporary art at the Blanton Art Museum at the University of Texas.
Among the participating artisans are basket maker and 2008 MacArthur Fellow Mary Jackson of Charleston, South Carolina; glass artist Martin Kremer of Pound Ridge, New York; and decorative porcelain sculptor Katherine Houston of Boston, Massachusetts.
The Friday, May 1, preview party is set for 6:30 to 9 p.m. Tickets start at $125.
The craft exhibition and sale runs 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday and 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Sunday. Tickets are $10 for general public. The annual plant sale is free.
