Artist Marie Sturken’s work and life embody the Rider University exhibition “Joy of Ink and Fiber,” opening with a reception with the artist on Thursday, March 12, at 5 p.m.
The print and paper maker, at age 94, has been a prominent name and presence in New Jersey art circles. In addition to being a founding member of the Princeton Artists Alliance and a regular exhibitor in numerous galleries, her works can be found in the Museum of Modern Art library, New Jersey State Museum, Newark Library Print Collection, Johnson & Johnson headquarters in New Brunswick, and more.
The Rider exhibition follows the thread of what she calls “my own life-long journey.” Art lovers can hear about that journey from the artist when she joins Rider curator Harry Naar in a public discussion on Thursday, March 26, at 7 p.m. Events are free.
