The Society of St. Vincent de Paul in Princeton will launch a charity art exhibition of paintings and photographs by award-winning regional artist Rhoda Kassof-Isaac on Thursday, September 15, at the Hopewell Valley Vineyards.
The 5:30 to 9 p.m. event features a jazz ensemble and the opportunity to view the work of the octogenarian artist who is a founder of Gallery 14 in Hopewell, has exhibited and worked both in her native New Jersey and in Europe, and will be one of the featured artists in the upcoming “Art from the Heart,” a mixed media exhibit at the Millstone River Gallery at Merwick Care & Rehabilitation Center.
In addition to being a graduate of the C.G. Jung Institute in Zurich, Switzerland, and a practicing analytical psychologist, Isaac recently created images for the book of poems “Through the Looking Glass,” which, she says of the title, “refers to lens of my camera.”
This fundraiser, say the organizers, “will enable the Society to intensify assistance for the basic needs of everyday living — food, clothing, medicines, rent, utilities, and referrals.”
The exhibit and works for sale capture major themes of Isaac’s career and include watercolors, photographs, and illustrations.
The exhibition-sale continues through Friday, September 30, at Hopewell Valley Vineyards, 46 Yard Road, Pennington. Hours are Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, noon to 5 p.m.; Thursday, Friday, Saturday noon to 9 p.m.; and Sunday, noon to 5 p.m. The vineyard has wine tastings, cheese and fruit plates, and other refreshments for sale during most hours.
