Trio Candesco, a flute, harp, and viola trio founded in Princeton, is set to cap this season’s Princeton Symphony Orchestra Chamber Series at Trinity on Thursday, April 23 at 7 p.m. at Trinity Church.
The trio will perform Arnold Bax’s Elegiac Trio, Harald Genzmer’s Trio for flute, viola, and harp, Sofia Gubaidulina’s Garten von Freuden und Traurigkeiten (Garden of Joy and Sorrow), and Claude Debussy’s Sonata for flute, viola, and harp.
Trio Candesco features Sarah Shin, flute; Jessica Thompson, viola; and Jacqueline Kerrod, harp. The trio is known for its ommitment to both classical and contemporary music.
Their collaborative projects reflect a shared passion for pushing artistic boundaries, and they are active educators and curators, looking to shape the next generation of musicians through performance, recording, and mentorship.
Trio Candesco performs in 2025-26 on the Princeton University Chapel Series and Princeton Symphony Orchestra Chamber Series, which is dedicated to expanding the repertoire through adventurous programming and premieres of new works.
Concert attendees are invited to a reception immediately following the concert in the church’s Pierce-Bishop Hall featuring beverages and homemade sweet and savory bites prepared by members of the Princeton Festival Guild.
Trinity Church is located at 33 Mercer Street, Princeton. General admission tickets for these performances are $45 per person (50% discount for children 5-17).
